Beatriz Yordi specialised in fundamental physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela. A pioneer in renewable energy policies, she joined the European Commission in 1994, working on Eco-innovation, Green businesses, LIFE programme and renewables in DG Environment, DG Energy and EASME. Her career began at CIEMAT and in a joint venture for the first European solar PV plant. She joined DG Climate Action in 2015, and leads the team responsible for the EU Emissions Trading System, promoting carbon pricing and advancing innovation, opportunity and competitiveness in line with the Paris agreement.
