Dr. Marie Bysveen

Head of research Smart Cities/Senior researcher

Marie Bysveen is the Head of the strategic program on Smart Cities and Communities in SINTEF. She holds a Siv. Ing from NTH in 1992 in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Marine engineering from NTNU/INRIA (France).

During her 12 years at SINTEF, Marie has a wide experience, from Research Manager, Research Director, Executive Vice President, Vice President Research and now having a market development responsibility at Dept. of Thermal Energy at SINTEF Energy research as a senior researcher.

Marie is member of the high-level Advisory Group for Energy (AGE) for the European Commission and expert in the ETS Innovation Fund of DG CLIMA. She is a coordinator of the EERA Joint Programme on CCS since several years. She has been the coordinator of large R&D projects within the field of CCS, and centre director of the national Centre of Excellence FME Cenbio. She is also at the CLIMIT Program Board, appointed by OED.

Marie has recently been appointed a member of the Centre Of Excellence FME NCCS Special Advisory Board.
