Research Professor

Juha Lehtonen (Dr. Tech. in Chemical Engineering) is a Research Professor of Bioenergy and Thermochemical Conversion at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. His research focusses on catalytic and thermochemical conversion, heterogeneous catalysis, reaction engineering and the production of renewable fuels and chemicals. Juha is in charge of VTT strategic focus area on carbon dioxide utilization. He is author and co-author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications. He obtained his doctoral degree at Åbo Akademi University, Finland. Juha has a long career in industrial research organizations as a specialist of chemical reaction engineering, catalysis and development of biofuels processes. He has also experience of many managerial positions in industrial R&D organizations. Before moving to VTT in 2016, Juha worked at Aalto University, Finland as a professor of Industrial Chemistry.
