The frequency of surgery can be reduced through individualized diagnosis and therapy decisions. Minimally invasive procedures, situational information available in real time, and the involvement of spatially distant experts minimize burdens and risks to patients. If, for example, highest surgical precision is required, surgical robots complement the skills of the surgeon. The use and availability of operating theaters – as well as devices, patient beds and personnel – are planned, optimized and monitored across IT. Doctors and nursing staff use visual control stations and mobile devices for this purpose.
