FROM PLANT PHYSIOLOGY STUDIES TO NEW INDUSTRIAL BIOTECHNOLOGIES

At the City of energies, CEA researchers are studying plant physiology and productivity dynamics, focusing on the biology of micro-algae, from the strain to the industrial prototype. Thanks to equipments such as photobioreactors, mass spectroscopy, automated cultivation, lipodomic instruments, they can identify the most promising, robust and productive strains of micro-algae. They can imagine for example the tomorrow energies, working with industry for the biofuel but also for green chemistry, cosmetics, food industry, bio-economy at large.
