Smart & Connected Factory

Using machine-data and sharing data with customers and suppliers is crucial to ensure the competitiveness of the European manufacturing industry. TNO is developing new technologies for setting-up manufacturing data spaces in the areas of agile supply chains, flexible manufacturing and digital twinning. A key enabler is interoperability: providing vendor-neutral ‘plug & play’ connectivity by jointly developing new standards to share data. In addition, digital sovereignty is a key requirement: companies should retain full control over the usage of data, even when it is shared with business partners in the cloud.

To achieve large scale adoption of these new approaches, TNO is successfully working together with manufacturing companies and their technology providers. In this exhibit we showcase the application of this technology in the Brainport Industries Campus digital innovation hub. We also demonstrate how this is successfully linked to European initiatives, such as the International Data Spaces Association.
