CEA is the French Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission.

With his 16,000 scientists and engineers, he ranks as the first public patent assignee in Europe (2018).

CEA is a major innovator in the fields of low-carbon energies, medicine, artificial intelligence, on-board systems, high-performance computing, etc. Through its high-level fundamental and applied research in the fields of defence, energy and security, CEA is a key asset for the French and European strategic independence. It also provides a scientific and technical support to the authorities, in its fields of competence.

With expertise and broad research programmes in low-carbon energy systems, the carbon cycle, the understanding of climate and monitoring of environment, CEA can be a leading partner for most of the activities and objectives stated in the European Green Deal.
