Meet Dr. Haize Galarraga

Haize Galarraga is a Mechanical Engineer (2005) and PhD (2020) from the University of the Basque Country, and Materials Engineer from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA) (2016). He is a researcher with more than 15 years of experience in the technical-scientific development of research projects of national and international scope in the area of ​​metal components manufacturing, as well as in technological services to companies. He specialized in Additive manufacturing during his stay in the United States where he worked as a researcher in the "Integrative material design Center" of the WPI in collaboration with the Oak Ridge National Labs and published several articles related to additive manufacturing in powder bed fusion (PBF) and direct energy deposition (DED). Within this scope, he has given international conferences, given courses and participated in round tables in congresses. Since 2018, he has been responsible of additive manufacturing in the Industry and Transport Division in TECNALIA, where he coordinates the actions related to this field. He is a member of the board of directors of Addimat (Spanish Association of Additive Manufacturing Technologies), and member of the Additive Manufacturing Node of the Basque Digital Industry Hub.
