Meet René H. Berkvens

René H. Berkvens has been active in the shipbuilding industry for over 35 years, most of which was spent with the Damen group from the Netherlands. Damen operates more than 35 shipyards in 18 countries employing more than 10.000 persons. Damen is active in many different market segments including workboats, ferries, defence & security, yachting, fisheries, dredging and ship repair.

René Berkvens started his career in the commercial department and later got involved in various general management positions. Between 2006 and 2020 he was the CEO of the Damen Group overseeing all operations. Today René Berkvens is working as advisor for the Executive Board and shareholders of the company
