MEET DR. STÉPHANE SARRADE

Stephane Sarrade was graduated as food science and biotechnology Engineer in 1989. He got is Ph. D in 1994 in Chemical Engineering applied to Supercritical fluids and Membranes processes.

He joined CEA in 1995 and was successively head of laboratory (1998), head of service (2004) and head of department (2009) within the Nuclear Energy Division (DEN) of CEA. He managed R & D programs in Chemical Engineering applied to decommissioning, decontamination, reprocessing and nuclear wastes management.

Since 2020, Stephane Sarrade is director of the Energy Programs Direction port, a strategic direction of DEN dedicated to low carbon energy R & D programs (Nuclear and Renewable Energies).

He is also since 2011 research director of CEA in Chemical Engineering and Green Chemistry. In parallel, he was chairman of the French Membranes Club (2000-2009) and he is since 2006 President of Supercritical Fluids Innovation (IFS), a non-profit organization devoted to green processes. He is co-founder of a startup created in 2014, Inovalor, applied to new processes for hazardous waste management.
