Meet Dr. Torsten Siebert

Torsten Siebert is the central coordinator for the Quantum Technologies Programme of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. The programme encompasses the interdisciplinary research activities of over 16 Fraunhofer-Institutes and spans the fields of quantum imaging, sensors, communication and computing technologies.

Torsten Siebert completed his habilitation in the field of nonlinear optics and coherent quantum control at the Freie Universität Berlin, where he also maintains a lectureship at the Department of Physics. His academic training further includes postdoctoral studies and research sabbaticals at the Institute for Quantum Science and Engineering, Texas A&M University and the National Research Council of Canada in Ottawa.
